The COMBINE (Computation and Mathematics for Biological Networks) Graduate Research Fellowship and Network of COMBINE Students (NeCSt) are hosting an industry-focused career workshop for graduate students! This event will provide information to those interested in non-academic career paths. Invited speakers include the Senior Director of Data Science at Marriott International, Senior Data Scientist at Mosaic Data Science Consulting, Group leader at Janelia, Project Leader in computational statistics from the Flatiron institute, and a Data Scientist at Sapient Consulting who is an alumnus of the prestigious Insight Data Science Postdoctoral Fellowship. The invited speakers will begin the event with 30-minute talks about their technical backgrounds, career paths, and perspectives on industry careers. There will be an interactive lunch and speaker panel moderated by graduate students to follow.
